Painter and poet Fabian Peake presents his first definitive collection of poetry, selected from a writing practice spanning 25 years. The 41 poems include verse poems, abstract pieces and concrete or ‘shape’ poetry that employ repetition, spacing and pauses to convey emotion, atmosphere and sense of time.
‘Peake is operating within the tradition of concrete poetry and plays with the shape of the whole work (in the mode of fellow visual-artist-turned-poet the late Ian Hamilton Finlay, or perhaps most famously EE Cummings and Apollinaire), his interest seems most piqued by the spatial qualities within a poem.’ Oliver Basciano, Art Review
Fabian Peake studied painting at Chelsea School of Art and at the Royal College of Art. He works in a range of media largely based around painting and lives and works in London.
